I received a call from this number saying they were from the irs and that my social security number was put on hold because of suspicious activity. It didn't sound right to me so I started asking questions at first he told me I could google him so as to prove he really was from the irs and when I questioned that he hung up. I tried to call him back only to get a recording that the number no longer works Ok

Called and because I didn't recognize the phone number, I didn't answer. This caller did NOT leave a message. If it was a legitimate business, they would have left a return call number, hence, I have to believe it is some type of scam or solicitor.
